Health insurance premiums 2027
The health insurance premiums for 2027 will be announced at the end of September 2026. This page provides important information about basic health insurance and the associated premiums. You’ll also find tips on ways to reduce your premiums.
Swiss health insurance premiums are rising because healthcare costs are rising. Reasons for the cost increases include new treatment methods and medications, an ageing population and the inclusion of more benefits under basic health insurance.
There are various ways to reduce your health insurance premiums. Check out our article Five tips on how to save on your health insurance to find out more.
Change your basic health insurance model
Avoid unnecessary accident insurance
If you work at least 8 hours per week for the same employer, then you already have accident insurance through this employer. This means you can exclude accident insurance from your basic health insurance, reducing your premiums by 7%.
Pay your premiums in advance
Save 1% by paying your premiums annually in advance. Save 0.5% by paying six-monthly in advance. You can easily amend your payment schedule under Payment options.
Select a higher deductible
Do you rarely need to visit a doctor? To keep your premiums low, simply select the highest deductible of CHF 2,500.–. You can once a year.
