Benefit class 1

This benefit class covers 50% of the cost of dental treatments, braces and teeth cleaning – up to CHF 500 per year.

No health check is required.

This benefit class covers 75% of the cost of dental treatments, braces and teeth cleaning – up to CHF 1,500 per year.

Children under 5 do not need a health check.

Benefit class 4

This benefit class covers 75% of the cost of dental treatments, braces and teeth cleaning – up to CHF 2,000 per year. The plus factor: for people under the age of 20, 75% of the cost of braces is covered with no financial limit.

Does supplementary dental insurance cover braces for teeth?

Braces are not cheap. That’s why in Switzerland many parents take out dentistry insurance for their children. All KPT supplementary dental insurance policies cover part of the cost of braces.

The largest contribution is paid by benefit class 4 dental cover for children and young people. Up to the young person’s 20th birthday, it pays 75% of the costs for braces with no financial limit. From the 20th birthday, it still pays up to CHF 2,000 per year.

When can I take out dental insurance without a health check?

Preventive dentistry insurance – benefit class 1: you do not need a certificate from a dentist.
Comprehensive dental cover – benefit class 3: is your child 5 or older? Then you will need a certificate from a dentist.
Dental cover for children and young people – benefit class 4: is your child 5 or older? Then you will need a certificate from a dentist.

Tip: insure your child before their 5th birthday. as you will not need a certificate from a dentist.
