Supplementary accident insurance benefits

Hospital stay
Supplementary accident insurance covers additional costs that may arise when you visit a hospital outside of your canton of residence. It only covers a stay on a general ward at a hospital on the .

The insurance does not cover the costs of chargeable services such as renting a bedside TV, drinks or snacks.
Medical aids
Supplementary accident insurance pays for glasses, hearing aids and prostheses, provided that these are required as a direct result of the accident. A doctor is also required to provide confirmation that these are medically necessary.
Home help
Supplementary accident insurance pays for domestic assistance in your home (home help) up to a maximum of CHF 5,000. This help can be provided by family members. The insurance will only pay out if the person providing the help furnishes evidence that they receive no salary for this work.

Extra protection with term life insurance

For greater financial security: term life insurance pays a cash lump sum in the event of death or disability. You or your dependants are free to choose how to spend this money.

What does statutory accident insurance cover?

in Switzerland covers the main costs following an accident. Everybody in Switzerland is legally required to have accident insurance. There are two options: you are either insured by your employer under the Accident Insurance Act (AIA) or you arrange cover with your health insurer as part of your basic health insurance under the Health Insurance Act (HIA).

Following an accident, accident insurance covers the costs for doctors, hospitals, medication, therapy and medical aids. If you are temporarily unable to care for yourself, it also covers the cost of care and domestic assistance in your home.

Who can benefit from supplemental accident insurance for care services?

This supplementary accident insurance is recommended for anyone who does not have accident insurance through an employer, such as children, students or anyone managing a household.
